Company Description

Our Mission

At Palo Alto Networks® everything starts and ends with our mission:

Being the cybersecurity partner of choice, protecting our digital way of life.
Our vision is a world where each day is safer and more secure than the one before. We are a company built on the foundation of challenging and disrupting the way things are done, and we’re looking for innovators who are as committed to shaping the future of cybersecurity as we are.

Who We Are

This role is remote, but distance is no barrier to impact. Our hybrid teams collaborate across geographies to solve big problems, stay close to our customers, and grow together. You will be part of a culture that values trust, accountability, and shared success where your work truly matters.

Job Description

Your Career

The People Science team exists to help our business make smarter, more data-driven decisions about our most valuable asset: our people. We serve as objective advisors who translate data into the actionable insights that power talent strategy.

As the Sr. People Scientist dedicated to our Product organization, you will be the primary analytical partner and strategic advisor to a dynamic function undergoing rapid growth and transformation. You will move beyond reporting to provide deep, consultative insights that directly influence leadership decisions, optimize organizational health, and ensure the talent strategy enables Product's ambitious goals. Your work will have a direct and measurable impact on the effectiveness of our Product teams and the leaders who guide them.

Your Impact

  • Strategic Partnership & Consulting: Serve as the single point of contact and trusted advisor for People Business Partners (PBPs) and senior leaders within the Product organization. Proactively identify opportunities where analytics can provide critical insights to solve business challenges.
  • Data-Driven Insights & Storytelling: Translate complex business problems into focused analytical projects. Deliver clear, compelling data stories on functional talent trends, including attrition, performance, skills gaps, engagement, and organizational health, to guide leadership action.
  • Productivity & Performance Measurement: Partner with functional leaders to develop, implement, and drive adoption of role-based KPIs and metrics (e.g., developer productivity, product manager effectiveness).
  • Workforce Strategy & Organizational Design Consulting: Serve as the key analytical partner to the Workforce Planning team and Product leaders on strategic headcount planning, scenario modeling, and organizational design initiatives.
  • Empowerment & Data Literacy: Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making within the Product function. Drive the adoption and use of People Analytics tools and dashboards, coaching leaders and PBPs to leverage insights for their teams effectively.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between the Product function and the central People Analytics team. Partner with our data science and listening specialists to scope complex projects, leverage specialized models, and translate findings into practical recommendations for your stakeholders.

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in people analytics, management consulting, or a related analytical field, with a demonstrated ability to use data to influence business outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a proven ability to build trusted-advisor relationships and present complex analytical findings to senior leaders in a clear and compelling way.
  • Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of how to connect people data to broader organizational strategy and financial performance.
  • Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools like SQL, R, and/or Python. You are comfortable wrangling and analyzing data from various sources to uncover insights.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to build insightful dashboards and compelling data narratives.
  • A strong grasp of advanced statistical methods (e.g., regression, causal inference, network analysis). While you may not build every model yourself, you can interpret complex results and partner effectively with specialists.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, operate with a high degree of autonomy, and have a proactive mindset, consistently seeking opportunities to add analytical value.
