Job Description
About The Department/Team:
The Client Engagement and Distribution Insights team is a functional department of Digital Distribution and Enterprise Engineering (D2E2). Their main focus is to provide advanced analytics solutions, enable sales and marketing teams with modern technologies, and maintain client, transaction, and asset data.
Responsibilities Of The Role:
- Lead day to day execution of one or more scrum teams
- Facilitate daily standups with team, including stakeholders
- Facilitate sprint planning sessions and provide sprint commitment updates to business
- Facilitate retrospective meetings and track actions to closure
- Work with Product Owner to prioritize product back log
- Assist development team and Product Owner to refine product functionality and product back log user stories
- Radiate team communications and remove impediments impacting release and program level teams
- Communicate progress, raise risks and issues to Product Owner
- Shield team from external influences not relevant to current sprint work
- Collaborate and coordinate with other SCRUM masters in a multiple agile team environment
- Facilitate technical discussions with Architects to resolve technical challenges the team encounters
- Coordinate UAT testing with end users
Requirements For The Role:
- The ideal candidate should have 3-5+ years of Agile Scrum Master experience
- Must be extremely strong in Agile methodology
- Ability to incorporate fist to five (5 finger decisioning), planning poker; lean practices, XP, DSDM, FDD, crystal or other appropriate methodologies, chapter, guild, tribe, etc.
- Strong in leading effective team, department and organization
- Experience leading the transition to agile /experience with managing the change from waterfall methodologies towards agile methodologies and practices
- Scrum Master certification is a plus
- Strong change management experience
- Knowledge and/or experience with Client Communications/Reporting is a plus
- Experience working with globally distributed teams
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where production releases occur in 2-4 week durations
- Ability to interpret burn down charts, burn up charts, SCRUM & Kanban boards to know the teams progress
- Ability to identify risks and issues during the sprint and help team in resolution of issues which impede progress
- Good exposure to sizing techniques used in agile process
- Ability to improve team maturity levels in understanding process and increasing productivity in terms of velocity
- Ability to train or educate team on agile process
- Exposure using Agile Life Cycle Management tools including JIRA or Rally
- Familiar with knowledge management tools such as SharePoint, Confluence etc.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
