Program Summary
KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.
Job Summary
Operator/Laborer supports Civil Engineering Operations by performing ground maintenance, facility support, and equipment operation tasks to ensure the installation maintains mission readiness and compliance with performance standards. This position requires safe and effective use of tractors, ride-on mowers, and other equipment, as well as assisting with manual labor tasks such as trimming, pruning, and basic repairs. Additionally, the candidate should have a working knowledge of concrete pouring, asphalt applications including ground preparation, the use of relevant tools, and any necessary training.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain tractors, ride-on mowers, trimmers, and other assigned equipment in support of grass cutting, weed control, and ground maintenance.
- Perform grass-cutting and landscaping tasks around airfields, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
- Performs duties in pavement maintenance, such as ground preparation for concrete (hand mix or ready mix), applying asphalt (hot or cold) or quick dry airfield products.
- Perform routine labor tasks such as tree trimming, pruning, debris removal, and seasonal clean-up.
- Conduct pre- and post-operation checks on assigned equipment, reporting any deficiencies or malfunctions.
- Maintain and perform basic servicing of all grass-cutting machinery and tools.
- Follow daily and weekly work schedules assigned by the Foreman/Leadman, adapting as mission requirements change.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and environmental regulations.
- Perform duties with hand tools such as shovel, rake, mattock, sledgehammer, jackhammer or impact/rotary hammer.
- Prepare ground surfaces and execute concrete pouring projects, including leveling and finishing.
- Provide labor support for other CE missions during non-growing seasons (e.g., snow removal, minor repairs, facility clean-up).
- Will serve as a worker and driver when necessary or as directed by supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 60 lbs - 27 kilos, extended sitting, standing, and walking and working outdoors and in environments where exposure to normal and adverse weather conditions, environmental hazards, chemical exposure, and physical exposure
- Safely operate heavy machinery and vehicles
- Daily attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations
- Ability to work well with a diverse range of individuals, including clients, teammates, and government officials
- Communicate effectively with clients, teammates and government officials
Basic Qualifications
- Turkish citizenship
- High school graduate
- Minimum B class valid driving license.
- Capable to speak, read, write and understand English Language Level 1
- Proven experience operating riding mowers, hedge trimmers, and related landscaping equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform grass-cutting, particularly in specialized areas such as airfields.
- Familiarity with ground preparation and concrete pouring, including the use of tools and safety measures.
Preferred Qualifications
- G-Class Driver’s License
- Two years of experience as a skilled or unskilled laborer.
- Familiarity with standard farming, gardening or construction environment.
- Familiarity with ground maintenance equipment, safety procedures, teamwork.
All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.
All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.
All male candidates must have completed their military service.
