Job Summary

The Senior Director, Design leads Comcast’s multidisciplinary design organization, overseeing creative direction, execution, and brand consistency across digital, print, social, and event design. This role guides a team of designers and art directors responsible for shaping the visual identity of Comcast’s corporate storytelling, internal communications, and brand experiences. The Senior Director ensures all creative work reflects Comcast’s brand vision while driving innovation and excellence across every platform and audience touchpoint.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Design Strategy 

  • Lead the design team in developing and executing creative concepts across web, social, print, and event environments.
  • Define and communicate Comcast’s visual design strategy, ensuring cohesion across all internal and external creative output. 
  • Translate business and communications objectives into impactful design solutions that strengthen Comcast’s brand identity. 
  • Partner with senior communications, marketing, and creative leadership to align design strategy with enterprise-wide initiatives. 
  • Team Management & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, art directors, and visual specialists across multiple design disciplines.

  • Establish performance goals, provide feedback, and create professional development opportunities for team members. 
  • Recruit, retain, and develop top design talent that reflects Comcast’s creative vision and values. 

Cross-Platform Design Execution

  • Oversee design execution across a variety of media including digital, web, social, print, motion graphics, and environmental design. 
  • Ensure design excellence across campaign materials, brand assets, presentations, signage, and event collateral. 
  • Partner with Studio C, social media teams, and website operations teams to maintain a cohesive design language across platforms. 
  • Guide creative execution for executive communications, major events, and corporate brand moments. 

Brand Management & Visual Identity 

  • Maintain and evolve Comcast’s brand standards, ensuring consistent and accurate use of logos, color, typography, and imagery. 
  • Lead design system development and oversee creative governance across business units and regions. 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to adapt design principles for digital and physical experiences. 
  • Ensure all design deliverables meet accessibility, usability, and visual quality standards. 

Creative Production & Collaboration 

  • Collaborate with producers, writers, and creative directors to deliver fully integrated creative campaigns. 
  • Partner with event producers and marketing teams to bring visual storytelling to life across live and virtual experiences. 
  • Oversee vendor and agency relationships to ensure consistency and creative excellence in outsourced design work. 
  • Ensure workflows between design, production, and digital teams are efficient, scalable, and collaborative. 

Innovation & Design Excellence 

  • Champion creative innovation by exploring new tools, technologies, and design approaches. 
  • Stay current on industry trends in digital design, motion, experiential, and branding. 
  • Drive experimentation and continuous improvement to elevate Comcast’s creative output. 
  • Promote a culture of curiosity and cross-functional collaboration that advances the company’s visual storytelling capabilities. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 12+ years of experience in design, creative direction, or brand development roles. 
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams across digital, print, and experiential media. 
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative leadership, design excellence, and brand storytelling. 
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and other design tools. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. 
  • Master’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, or Media Management. 
  • Experience in corporate, media, or agency environments supporting large-scale brand initiatives. 
  • Knowledge of motion design, digital design systems, and experiential or environmental graphics. 
  • Familiarity with accessibility and responsive design standards. 
  • Background in telecommunications, media, or technology sectors.
