Business Intelligence Developer

We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Developer with strong experience in Tableau reporting and data visualization, along with a solid foundation in SQL, to join our team. This role focuses primarily on building impactful, user-friendly Tableau dashboards and reports while also contributing to broader BI initiatives across the data ecosystem.

As a Microsoft-focused environment, we rely heavily on SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS, with Python used in certain ETL workflows and Tableau as our primary visualization tool. We’re seeking a versatile developer who enjoys creating data-driven insights through visualization while being comfortable supporting data pipelines, SQL optimization, and other BI functions as needed.

Job Description

• ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•     Design, develop and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports that communicate key metrics and business performance.
•     Collaborate with business users to translate requirements into actionable visualizations and analytical solutions.
•     Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models to ensure fast and reliable reporting. 
•     Support ETL development and data integration workflows using SSIS and Python, ensuring data accuracy and availability. 
•     Maintain and enhance existing SSRS and Tableau reports to improve usability, consistency, and performance. 
•     Perform data validation, QA, and troubleshooting across multiple systems and reporting layers.
•     Work closely with the BI and FP&A teams to support ad hoc reporting and analysis requests. 
•     Identify opportunities to improve dashboard performance, report automation, and data storytelling.
•     Leverage AI and automation tools to improve reporting efficiency and uncover new insights. 
•     Document report logic, data flows, and project updates for ongoing support and transparency. 
• KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•     Strong proficiency in Tableau – dashboard design, calculations, parameters and performance tuning.
•     Strong proficiency in SQL – complex joins, stored procedures, indexing and query optimization.
•     Exposure to Python or SSIS for data analysis or automation is a plus.
•     Familiarity with SSRS and other reporting tools is a plus.
•     Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
•     Ability to interpret data, generate insights, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•     Desire to learn and grow in both technical and business-focused dimensions.
•     Team-oriented, adaptable, and proactive in problem-solving.
• EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•     Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
•     3-5 years of experience developing reports and dashboards using Tableau or similar BI tools.
•     Experience working with SQL Server in a data warehouse environment.
