We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Workday Business Systems Analyst to join our People Technology team. In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert for Workday’s Payroll, Benefits, and Time & Attendance modules, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency. You will play a key role in optimizing configurations, supporting integrations, and driving automation that simplifies employee and HR team experiences.

In this role, you combine the technical ability to analyze complex system requirements with the functional ability to collaborate effectively with Payroll, HR, Benefits, and IT stakeholders. You are organized, solutions-driven, and forward-thinking, with a strong understanding of people processes such as payroll operations, benefits enrollment, compliance events, and time/absence management. Core Responsibilities:
- Serve as a functional Workday expert for the Payroll, Benefits, and Time & Attendance modules, ensuring accurate configuration, testing, and ongoing support.
- Partner with Payroll, HR, and Benefits leaders to analyze business requirements, design system solutions, and document functional specifications.
- Manage and support open enrollment, payroll year-end, and time/absence cycles, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policy.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and audits that proactively surface data quality issues, compliance risks, and process inefficiencies.
- Lead testing efforts for Workday releases, enhancements, and integrations, including test case creation, UAT coordination, and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with IT and vendors to support integrations with payroll providers, benefits carriers, and timekeeping systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and streamline workflows through Workday functionality, integrations, or AI-enabled tools.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, business processes, and change management in alignment with governance requirements.
- Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for escalated issues, ensuring timely resolution and excellent stakeholder communication.
Skills & Requirements:
- 3–5 years of hands-on Workday experience with configuration and support in Payroll, Benefits, and Time/Absence modules.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, benefits eligibility/enrollment, time tracking, and compliance requirements (FLSA, ACA, HIPAA, SOX).
- Demonstrated experience supporting open enrollment, payroll year-end, or major compliance events in Workday.
- Familiarity with Workday reporting tools (RaaS, BIRT, Calculated Fields).
- Experience with integrations (PECI, payroll providers, benefit carrier feeds).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills with the ability to translate business needs into system solutions.
- Proven ability to build relationships across HR, Payroll, Benefits, IT, and vendors, and to manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge of Workday Extend, automation tools, or AI solutions for process simplification is preferred.
- Experience in a multi-state or global organization with complex payroll and benefits structures.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOX, ITGC) and change management best practices.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a track record of simplifying processes and improving data quality.
Where: Remote, US
The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.

Compensation: The target base compensation for this position is $140,000 to $155,000 USD per year with a variable component in most US locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
