I am really pleased to tell you about a QAHE internal opportunity for a Principal Lecturer now open for application. 

As a Principal Lecturer you will support the mentoring and development of the faculty as well as support reviews or validations where relevant supporting documents might require statements on Academic Research initiatives. The role includes an allocation of teaching and some module leadership typical of all teaching roles.

The role holder will also support in activities that focus on generating Staff-led Academic Research across the various Faculties. This will include getting involved and supporting the Research Hubs for academic staff and organising Guest Speakers. Engage in the development and maintenance of academic standards across all staff-led Academic Research, including development of appropriate ethical standards, the creation of suitable committees to oversee research processes and co-ordination of partner university collaboration where needed.
Deliver workshops to staff as part of a development programme on best practice in academic research and on establishing connections between research and teaching delivery content (at both UG and PG levels) in pursuit of research

Support the mentoring and development of the faculty
Support the faculty with external reviews and validations including preparation of relevant supporting documents on teaching delivery and module leadership
Support the recruitment and selection of faculty staff where needed
Plan, prepare, teach/deliver modules and support student’s learning on a range of programmes and related subject areas
Improve established and develop innovative curricular and learning and teaching approaches in subject areas.
Provide guidance, support and tutorship for student groups and individuals as appropriate.
Develop new course/module content and update existing course/module content

Teaching
Excellent Student feedback on the planning, preparation, delivery of modules and the level of support for the student’s learning across a range of programmes and related subject areas.
Pass rates and performance of students in cohorts taught across modules.
Contributions to the development of new course content and updates of existing course content.
Meeting of partnership and internal quality assurance processes in relation to programmes

Experience
Significant Academic Research output at Doctoral Level – Essential
Experience of organising Academic Research-based events – Essential
Experience of organising Guest Speakers – Highly Desirable
Lecturer teaching experience in the HE sector at Level 7 – Essential
Module Leadership at Level 7 – Essential
Experience of supporting home and international students - Essential
