About The Role

Netball Australia's international programs are designed to empower women and girls globally through the sport of netball. By using netball as a vehicle for engagement, these initiatives promote leadership, confidence, and community involvement, helping women and girls to grow both on and off the court. Through partnerships and outreach, NA is committed to creating positive social impact and advancing gender equality worldwide.

This exciting position will support the management of NA’s international development programs, with a strong focus on social impact and public diplomacy. The role will coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the PacificAus Sports program and assist in other activities that develop sustainable pathways in targeted nations, while building the capacity of those working within the program.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Tracking and monitoring the implementation of program deliverables and identifying and mitigating risk.
  • Developing positive relationships with all key stakeholders and partners including regular liaison with the Pacific region, government and non-government organisations.
  • Preparing budgets, acquittals, briefings and high-quality reports.
  • Assisting with setting up the correct processes and systems to manage and monitor grants submissions.
  • Establishing and maintaining a program-wide monitoring and evaluation framework and introducing relevant monitoring and evaluation tools for program reporting.
  • Contributing to broader Market Development team programs and activities.
  • Supporting Pacific Partners with program rollout and implementation across the region.
  • Work with Pacific Partners to help build their capacity to deliver the programs in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Delivering activities in accordance with NA policies and procedures.
  • Input into the NA strategic objectives and Market Development long-term strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the MDT and other NA team pillars to identify opportunities enhance program and achieve objectives.
  • Some domestic and international travel may be required as part of this role.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary education/s
  • Political acumen and demonstrated experience developing relationships with Government departments and international organisations.
  • Strong administration and project management skills with a proven ability to set priorities, plan work programs, meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills and proven ability to build rapport and work with a complex and diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of best practice sport development principles.
  • Experience in report writing, submitting funding applications, preparing and monitoring budgets and producing financial acquittals.
  • Excited by challenges and motivated to find solutions that work for all parties.
  • Ability to work autonomously and simultaneously as an integral team member.
  • Experience writing funding applications to government.
  • Demonstrated alignment with NA values.
  • Competence with the Microsoft Office suite of products, email and the internet.
  • Alignment to, and champion of our DNA.
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance/willingness to obtain.

The role is based at Netball’s Head Office in Fitzroy/Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung country where you will be spoilt for choice on great coffee spots! Given the unique nature of the sports industry, and the domestic & global reach of our organisation, travelling and working outside of Netball HQ and traditional office hours may be required. Our teams work flexibly, and we encourage the successful applicant to discuss flexible working options with their new Manager. Reporting into the Head of Market Development, this role is offered on a full-time, fixed term basis until 30 June 2028.
