The System Administrator maintains, configures, and optimizes new and current servers and their operating systems to fit Company needs by performing the following duties while providing system-level support of multi-user operating systems, hardware and software tools, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of these systems. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported.

• Responsible for the operating system and associated subsystems. 
• Identify alternatives for optimizing computer resources.
• Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
• Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
• Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade operating systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration.
• Record and maintain hardware and software inventories, site and/or server licensing, and user access and security.
• Install, configure, and upgrade desktop hardware and peripherals to include network cards, printers, modems, mice and add-in boards.
• Write and maintain system documentation.
• Responsible for installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, LAN servers, peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred. If non-degreed, must have one or more of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Manufacturer's endorsement (Dell or HP Certified Systems Support), or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have strong hands-on knowledge of Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, and Windows 7 as required. Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and meet company insurability standards by having a good driving record.
