LSEG TORA is the leading provider of advanced investment management technologies for asset managers, hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, and sell-side trading desks globally. Role Summary:
The OEMS Engineering team is recruiting a skilled Quality Engineer to play a crucial role in our organisation. The successful candidate will become part of an engineering team addressing complex challenges and taking these to resolution. This provides a phenomenal opportunity for individuals who enjoy solving a variety of problems and who relish the chance to lead the resolution of exciting and new challenges on a regular basis.
The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues in order to provide quality testing for tasks across the team. Our team is mixed, comprised of Developers, DevOps and QA Engineers, therefore it is a good opportunity to exercise and/or acquire new skills. The systems developed and maintained by our team are focusing on realtime data that is to be acquired, processed and delivered to the backend services suite of our main products.
What You’Ll Be Doing:
- Create and maintain automated and manual test scripts
- Run automated and manual tests, analyse results, log defects, and provide clear reporting to stakeholders
- Develop scalable, reusable automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
- Work closely with developers, QA peers, business analysts to improve test coverage and resolve various issues
- Understand how the technology / domain strategy relates to and impacts own work, supporting the implementation of strategy within all work. Contributes to strategy definition where appropriate
- Develop an understanding of the OEMS and LSEG-TORA's commercial position in it
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to define and implement quality assurance solutions
- Support design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to stories with product owners and software engineering leads
- Build positive relationships with internal and external partners, growing own network and collaborating with other teams. Communicates challenging technical information clearly and concisely in an audience appropriate format
- Continue to develop technology and industry expertise through certifications, professional qualifications
What You’Ll Bring:
Nice To Have:
- Professional qualification or equivalent
- Basic financial understanding of trading systems and financial markets.
- Experience or familiarity with financial messaging systems
- Experience with automation technologies
- Basic knowledge of Java, comfortable to read code
Must Have:
- Some experience with Scripting tools, such as Bash
- Some experience with Linux Based OSs, comfortable with the command line and file processing tools
- Some experience with regular expressions
- Knowledge of basic Git command usage and workflows
- Knowledge on containers and container orchestrators such as Kubernetes
- Knowledge of general concepts of Cloud
- Experience in technologies for testing applications delivering REST and WebSocket services for API
- Knowledge of test planning and reporting - TestRail and Allure knowledge is a plus
- Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, delivery management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance.
- Significant experience in a Quality Assurance role
