Job Purpose

Demonstrate sound insight into TIH’s Australia and Hippo strategy and operations and translate that into an effective people plan. Develop a strategic partnership with all TIH Exco, senior leadership teams and the TIH people team (People enablement) and deliver through the People Partners.

Responsibilities

Functional Strategy Formulation and Implementation

Demonstrate sound insight into TIH’s commercial strategy and operations and translating that into an effective people plan.
Translate business requirements into appropriate agile people strategies aligned to the business strategic objectives
Lead and manage the delivery and implementation of the People strategy through the People Partners across TIH, in line with best practice, relevant legislation and within agreed timelines.
Cascade the TIH People strategy by designing business cluster specific people plans in alignment with the cluster strategies, in partnership with the senior leadership teams and People Partners.
Track and report progress on plan to the business reporting.

Strategic People Partner

Collaborate with the People enablement (Reward, Diversity and inclusion, Talent Acquisition, talent and performance, L&D and people services ) to ensure alignment with business need. Ensure that all People enablement initiatives are delivered and implemented and tracked across the organisation.

Change Management

Play an active role in building a change ready organisation culture . In partnership with People and People Partners, evaluate and modify all people processes and practices to align to global best practice of a changing workforce.

Policy Implementation

Ensure policies, structures and procedures are effectively communicated to all, consistently applied and monitored.
Advise on interpretation and application of labour law and translation thereof into policies and practices.

Stakeholder Engagement

Partner with business in implementing an optimal operating model and structure to ensure collaboration, efficiency and a more agile TIH Group.
Partner leadership in cultivating the cultural attributes of a growth mindset.
Partner leadership to establish and maintain high levels of employee engagement by clarifying the levels of employee engagement and partners with the business to develop action plans to address gaps.

Leadership and Direction

Lead the effective delivery of a high performing People Partner team, through the development of the individual staff members and ensuring that high standards within the team are developed and maintained
Assess the People service delivery in alignment with the needs of the business and engage in regular feedback and monitoring
Create and develop a partnership role to line management and to the business
Play a leadership role in coaching and mentoring the People Partner team.
Embed ethical leadership principles in how we develop leaders and how they drive business performance.

HR Frameworks and Tools

Identify requirements for HR frameworks and tools within an important area of responsibility to meet business needs. Specify the design and manage development and implementation, ensuring compliance with external requirements and integration with the broader People policy framework.

HR Data Analytics and Insights

Utilise our people data analytics and insights to influence leadership re the people agenda got the best decisions and recommendations for the business Lead and manage the delivery and implementation of the People strategy through the People Partners across TIH, in line with best practice, relevant legislation and within agreed timelines.

Budgeting

Take responsibility for setting and managing area budgets so they align with organizational strategy.

Performance Management

Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project / account team members and hold them accountable for achieving these; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team / personal objectives.

Facilitates Rewards Processes

Manage the annual salary review process execution in partnership with total rewards
Identify the need for reward programs and partners with COE to deliver (personalised rewards)

Information and Business Advice

Identify and/ or evaluate causes of conflict and propose appropriate corrective action.
Support business in developing their EE plan (including numerical targets and AA actions)
Facilitate the alignment of business strategy and EE plan
Ensure execution of all initiatives in line with the BU EE Plan

Education

HR / equivalent qualification/Degree (Essential); Post Graduate qualification in related field (Advantageous)

Experience

10 - 15 years experience in Human Resources/ and Talent Acquisition in a medium to large organisation. (Essential). Insurance/Financial Services experience (Advantageous). Minimum 6 years in leading diverse HR specialists and generalists teams (Essential)
