Position Summary

ATI Materials is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Cybersecurity Operations & Engineering to lead enterprise-wide security operations, engineering, and architecture. This role will shape ATI’s defense strategy, scale critical cybersecurity functions, and ensure resilience across IT and operational technology (OT) environments. The ideal candidate is a proven leader in building global cybersecurity programs, managing advanced security operations centers, and directing enterprise engineering initiatives to stay ahead of evolving threats.

Key Responsibilities

Cybersecurity Strategy & Leadership

  • Establish and continuously mature ATI’s global cybersecurity operations and engineering function, embedding security into enterprise-wide technology ecosystems.
  • Advise executive leadership on evolving risks, emerging technologies, and strategic investments to improve ATI’s overall security posture.
  • Align cybersecurity priorities with business objectives to enable secure growth and innovation.

Engineering & Architecture

  • Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of multi-layered defense strategies, including cloud, endpoint, and network security solutions.
  • Build and scale ATI’s cybersecurity engineering and architecture practice, integrating Zero Trust principles and secure-by-design approaches.
  • Drive adoption of innovative security technologies, automation, and advanced analytics to improve prevention, detection, and resilience.

Security Operations Center (Soc)

  • Oversee and scale a 24x7x365 global SOC that provides advanced threat detection, response, and monitoring.
  • Implement playbooks, automation, and orchestration (SOAR) capabilities to ensure rapid detection and containment.
  • Provide executive oversight to ensure the SOC delivers real-time situational awareness and actionable intelligence.

Incident Response & Crisis Management

  • Direct enterprise-wide incident response protocols and lead crisis management efforts across global business units.
  • Partner with executive leadership, legal, and communications teams to manage high-profile incidents.
  • Conduct regular simulations, tabletop exercises, and readiness reviews.

Investigations, Forensics & Threat Intelligence

  • Oversee advanced cyber investigations and digital forensics, applying forensic techniques to guide remediation and reduce risk.
  • Drive threat intelligence integration to proactively identify and mitigate emerging risks.

Budget, Resources & Governance

  • Manage departmental budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocations to ensure effective investment in cybersecurity resilience.
  • Provide transparency through metrics, reporting, and board-level updates on security posture and progress.

Talent Development & Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing global team of engineers, analysts, and managers.
  • Build a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the cybersecurity organization.
  • Champion continuous development and retention of top talent.
Qualifications

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of progressive cybersecurity experience, with at least 5 years in director-level leadership across operations and engineering.
  • Proven success in building global cybersecurity programs, scaling SOCs, and delivering enterprise-level incident response.
  • Deep expertise in cybersecurity engineering, architecture, and operational frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001).
  • Strong background in threat detection, forensics, and investigations.
  • Ability to engage executive leadership, communicate risks clearly, and lead under pressure.

Preferred:

  • Industry certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent.
  • Experience with manufacturing, industrial control systems (ICS), or OT security.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage automation, AI/ML, and advanced analytics in cybersecurity operations.
