Job Description
The Program Compliance Coordinator works as part of the Program Compliance team to ensure that BRC programs provide high quality and safe client services that meet funder regulations. This position primarily works with BRC’s shelter, safe haven and stabilization programs. Primary duties for this hands-on position include conducting assessments of program documentation and facility conditions to ensure compliance with regulations and agency best practices; monthly reviews of critical files to ensure that staffing and other documentation is kept up to date; assisting program staff in preparing for and responding to external audits by oversight entities; and managing recertification processes. The Program Compliance Coordinator reports to BRC’s Director of Program Compliance.
Responsibilities
- Embrace and embody the mission, core values and goals of BRC.
- Conduct virtual and in-person assessments of program documentation and facility conditions of DHS-funded shelter, safe haven and stabilization bed to ensure compliance with oversight entities and agency best practices.
- Review critical file documentation on a monthly basis to ensure that staffing and other documentation is kept up to date.
- Prepare training materials, audit tools, and/or corrective action plans to address deficiencies based on internal reviews and external audits.
- Ensure, in partnership with program clinical and management staff, that clinical records meet all relevant funding and licensure requirements.
- Assist program staff in preparation for external audits by oversight entities.
- Manage recertification processes for OTDA-certified shelter and safe haven programs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory standards and requirements, including relevant regulations from the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and the NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA).
- Collaborate with program managers across the agency for special projects, trainings, and tasks.
- Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail, accuracy, and pacing.
- Excellent written, presentation, and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated judgment and discretion with regard to confidential information and events.
- Superior computer literacy skills (e.g., Microsoft 365) and the ability to learn new computer applications with ease. Knowledge of EHRs (e.g., AWARDS) and project management systems (e.g., Smartsheet and SharePoint) are a plus.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS required in Human Services, Social Work, or related field; Masters preferred.
- Prior work experience in human services, behavioral health or related fields is required.
- Experience in the area of compliance or quality assurance is highly preferred.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 9:00AM- 5:30PM
- Hybrid work schedule (3 days in office)
