Description

Job Purpose

  • Lead Account opening services team
  • Control the day-to-day activities of the team both Onshore and Offshore
  • Manage account opening functions for Personal Banking and Wholesale Banking
  • Manage all maintenance and service-related requests pertaining to Account services unit
  • Manage all account opening/ Maintenance tasks received by digital channels like Customer onboarding, iPad, Online/ SMS Banking, IVR
  • Assist the Head of Shared services in achieving the Unit objectives by supervising the activities of a team of Processing supervisors while resolving relatively more complex problems / issues and ensuring smooth flow of work, complying with established standards, policies and procedures

Job Accountabilities

  • Lead and manage the operational functions at onshore to ensure:
  • Account opening (CASA&TD) and maintenance for WBG and PBG are completed within agreed SLA
  • Account opening, average over 100 documents per day, reconciliation of physical documents completed and forwarded to Archiving
  • Overnight safe custody of original physical documents under custody
  • Monitor Offshore Processing Team pertaining to
  • Account opening (CASA &TD)
  • Cheque Book issuance, Special Cheque Book
  • Online Banking, SMS, IVR Banking
  • Processing for COB (High Risk) IPAD (High Risk) and MB accounts
  • Review daily/ monthly tasks and dashboard are submitted
  • Decide, in line with stipulated polices, after analyzing the documents and requirements
  • Approve or reject COB-High Risk accounts, IPAD, MB accounts
  • Approving Debit cards in the Instant Issuance or DCR for above cases
  • Escalate approvals to the next level of management/ compliance, where required
  • Prioritizing process completion depending upon high net worth and tier 1 clients
  • Manage and plan resources for optimal efficiency especially planning absence or leaves
  • Fully responsible for:
  • Holding the original physical documents as joint custodian
  • Ensuring the physical documents are reconciled on a daily basis.
  • Rework identified by Offshore, rectification exercise in coordination with Branches / RM’s
  • Monitor and ensure proper movement of original physical documents between ASU & Central Archiving Unit under acknowledgement
  • Time Deposit / CCBB opening / OA payments approval
  • Act as joint bank admin for special bank controlled admin for iBusiness in conjunction with IAM
  • Approve the scanning of customer signatures in SIG-CAP handled at Onshore
  • Address / complete audit observations within time, Coordinate with auditors and rectify the irregularities and deficiencies observed to ensure compliance with the standard policies, procedures and statutory requirements
  • Identify / propose optimization opportunities, based on the experiences gained in the day to day functions for further improvement.
  • Work on continues process reviews and improvements to ensure customer experience & expectation is met.
  • Participate in preparing BRD, conduct UAT at a user perspective for upgrades in the processes handled at the Unit and ensure deployment in live
  • Support to develop and cross-train team members for better resource utilization during exigencies.
  • Provide assistance to the TL SSD –ASU & Escrow in completing the day-to-day operations of the Unit                            

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 10 years banking experience in branches or head office required mainly in account opening
  • Prior experience at head office/ branches as a Team Leader/ verifier would be an added advantage
