Reporting to the Senior Trainer - LEP, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of advanced technical training programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of our workforce. This role demands a deep understanding of technical concepts, strong instructional design capabilities, and exceptional communication skills to effectively transfer knowledge across diverse technical audiences.

 Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Maintenance and safeguarding of Electrical Equipment and Tools in the workshop and ensuring of re-stocking electrical consumables usage, and safe work practices to prevent electrical accidents and injuries.
  • Deliver safety training sessions focused on high voltage systems, emphasizing hazard identification, risk assessment, lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and safe work practices to prevent electrical accidents and injuries.
  • Monitor and interpret Electrical – Simens Training compliance in accordance with the requirement of HV Electra -Haul Trucks
  • Ensure personnel are adequately inducted in their work area and are aware of all workplace rules and critical procedures applied at Lumwana.
  • Conduct hands-on training and practical demonstrations of high voltage equipment operation, testing procedures, insulation testing, and troubleshooting techniques to reinforce learning and enhance practical skills.
  • Assess electrical maintenance personnel's knowledge and skills through written exams, practical assessments, and performance evaluations to ensure they meet the required competency levels in working with high voltage systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of high voltage training activities, including attendance, training content covered, evaluation results, and certification records into DAMSTRA System. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal record-keeping standards.
  • Continuously review and update high voltage training programs based on feedback, emerging technologies, changes in regulations, and evolving best practices to enhance training effectiveness and relevance.
  • Conduct visual inspections and perform detailed testing of electrical components
  • Accurately document inspection findings, recording all defects and issues in detailed reports, and recommending corrective actions or repairs
  • Ensure that all inspections and equipment meet regulatory requirements and industry safety standards, and Barrick standards.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate
  • Diploma in Engineering.
  • Diploma in Teaching Methodology 
  • Minimum Three (3) years’ working experience.
  • Must be a TEVETA Accredited Trainer/ Assessor
  • Member of The Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) & Energy Regulation Board (ERB)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
