Full-time, fixed-term position for 2.5 years

Base salary will range from $82,057 – $109,246 (Academic Level A) or $114,824 - $136,048 (Academic Level B) + 17% Superannuation

Based at our St Lucia campus

About This Opportunity

Our School of Psychology and the National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research (NCYSUR) are inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow with expertise in youth substance use research, drug policies and tobacco control. This is an exciting opportunity to support high-impact, vital research and create real change!

This position will be directly involved in the delivery of a range of NHMRC-funded research projects (e.g., monitoring tobacco use, AI-assisted intervention for youth vaping), and the research projects funded by the NCYSUR through the Australian Government, Drug and Alcohol Program.

The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality research on addiction, with a strong focus on smoking, vaping and other tobacco product use across populations and regulatory environments. The candidate will work under the supervision of Associate Professor Gary Chan, Associate Professor Janni Leung and Dr. Daniel Stjepanovic on a range of NHMRC-funded research projects (e.g., social media and addiction, AI-assisted intervention), and work under the supervision of the Prof. Jason Connor, Director of the National Centre for Youth Substance Use Research, on projects funded by the Department of Health and Aged Care.
