Your New Role
In this role as Senior Associate, Technology Risk Advisory, you will be reporting into the Senior Manager, Technology Advisory and be a key member of the Operational Risk team within Group Risk (Line 2). You will interface across the Fund’s Line 1 risk, subject matter experts and business units.
A key tenant of the role is to support the Senior Manager to provide Line 2 advice, oversight, and challenge on risk management practices across AustralianSuper’s technology including working closely with Line 1 risk colleagues to assist them to identify, assess and manage technology-related risks, within the context of the AustralianSuper Strategy, Enterprise Risk Management framework and Risk Appetite Statements.
Key duties include but not limited to;
- Gather insights and thematics to support the Senior Manager to act as a trusted advisor and business partner on all technology-related risk matters.
- Analysis of risk data, extracting insights and reporting to support the Senior Manager to oversight, advice and challenge the Fund in its effective management of technology-related risks, obligations, controls, incidents, third-parties etc.
- Provide analysis and insight with respect of the Fund’s technology-related risk profile, based on a thorough technical understanding of risk management, together with knowledge of the business.
- Support Senior Manager to provide risk insights concerning Fund-wide technology-related exposures, emerging technologies and issues, and industry trends.
- Partner with the Senior Manager on the oversight of technology-related risk, compliance, and regulatory change activities.
- Conduct independent controls testing (design and operational effectiveness) of selected technology-related controls across the Fund.
- Collaborate with other members of the Group Risk team to deliver accurate and insightful technology-related risk reporting where required which includes risk, control, incident, obligation management, and action plan data.
What You’Ll Need
- Tertiary qualifications in technology, business, or commerce related field.
- Relevant and current technology risk management, assurance and governance qualifications/certifications e.g. CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT.
- 5+ years’ experience in technology risk advisory, compliance, audit and/or assurance within financial services.
- Post tertiary qualifications in financial services, superannuation, risk management.
- Strong understanding of relevant technology risk related standards (e.g., CoBIT, APRA’s standards, NIST, ITIL)
- Demonstrated excellent stakeholder engagement, rapport building, consultation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing reports and papers for senior and executive management.
- Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA), or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.
