- Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Engineer Intern!
The Manufacturing Engineering team provides leadership and support on the definition of S&C assembly processes. The Manufacturing Engineer will work in assigned areas to develop, implement, maintain, and improve assembly processes. This will be done in collaboration with several teams including Product Engineering, Facilities, Quality Assurance, LPS, and Assembly. This position reports to the Manager – Manufacturing Engineering under Manufacturing Engineering.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Creating and reformatting assembly process documentation (Process Specification Procedure) on existing product.
- Updating assembly process documentation on existing products as changes are made.
- Solving problems in assembly that are found to have root causes relating to the assembly processes.
- Analyzing work stations in terms of improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, etc.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
- Be working toward a bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Quality Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred)
- A basic understanding of hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, etc.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Emotional intelligence and resilience
Major Physical Demands
- Standing: Many tasks are performed in a standing position.
- Lifting: Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 40 pounds
- Walking: Moderate walking of distances up to 1 mile around the S&C Campus
- Carrying: Occasional carrying of items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Pushing: Occasional use of a cart, pushing to move parts a moderate distance
- Pulling: Occasional use of a cart, pulling to move parts a moderate distance
- Bending: Occasional bending and crouching required to perform a variety of tasks
Reaching: Occasional need for full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees to reach for items
Handling: Occasional handling of parts and tools to perform a variety of tasks
Environment: Consists of time spent both in an office environment and on the production floor
