Job Summary:

The Graduate Medical Education Coordinator provides a high-level of administrative support for the Sports Medicine fellowship program in the Department of Family Medicine and under the University of Colorado Department of Graduate Medical Education. 

This includes independently managing all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, budget, ACGME regulatory compliance, rotation and didactic schedules and evaluation of postgraduate fellows. Consistently seeks opportunities to improve and enhance existing program. Establishes effective and collaborative working relationships with the Graduate Medical Education faculty and staff to ensure the success of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently administers program budget, including developing the annual budget, monitoring expenses, and providing variance information to the department’s finance team. Interacts with Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Emergency Medicine to coordinate funding for the fellowship positions and ensure accurate rotation schedules.
  • Serves as the point of contact for fellowship applicants, including working closely with the communications director to maintain and improve the program’s website to drive recruitment.
  • Serves as the point of contact with the School of Medicine’s GME office, including attending meetings and collaborating with them to understand and comply with constantly changing ACGME and GME requirements.
  • Contributes to the ongoing development, analysis, and evaluation of existing and proposed educational programs within the department and facilitating regulatory compliance activities.  
  • Independently manages all aspects of ACGME WebADS for reporting and compliance, including Milestones, fellow and faculty scholarly activity, faculty rosters.
  • Responsible for timely completion of all GME PLA requirements, with a focus on new rotations. Ensures prompt updates to fellowship rotation schedule in AmIOn. Independently schedules student rotations as requested.
  • Oversees quarterly evaluation process to ensure adherence to ACGME and SOM requirements.
  • Manages the preparation for program reviews, including gathering materials, synthesizing information for reviewers, scheduling sessions, and implementing subsequent recommendations.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.
  • Two (2) years of professional experience working in an institution of higher education supporting graduate medical education or medical student education or work in a medical setting.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in university-based family medicine graduate medical education.
  • Expertise with ERAS, NRMP, Amion and MedHub highly preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience managing ACGME-accredited program.
  • Experience with ACGME requirements.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $52,961 – $67,367.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
