Japan Loan Trading - Vice President

As a Credit Analyst / Loan Trader - Vice President in the Global Credit Trading team, you will analyze and trade private credit and syndicated leveraged loans in the Japan market. You will work closely with APAC and global teams, communicate regularly with key clients, and partner with internal stakeholders to build out our Loan Trading business in Japan. You will have the opportunity to engage in financing transactions and structure private credit opportunities, all while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Job Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models on Japanese corporates
• Trade loans and drive P&L opportunities for the Global Credit Trading desk through high conviction trade ideas and astute credit selection
• Collaborate with Japan and Global Credit Sales teams to strengthen connectivity with local and global client bases
• Partner with the Structuring team to engage in Financing and Private Credit opportunities in the Japan market
• Stay informed on developments in the Leveraged Finance space and news affecting individual obligors in the local market
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to establish frameworks and processes for the business
• Manage risk effectively

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• 5+ years of experience analyzing corporate credits
• Strong fundamental credit analysis skills and commercial acumen
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Law, or a related field
• Strong academic record
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and drive business outcomes

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Loan trading or investment experience in the Japan market
• Distressed Debt investing experience highly regarded
• Private Credit investing experience highly regarded
• CFA qualification highly regarded
