Supervision ReceivedPerforms work under general supervision with review and advice from manager or a senior level professional.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned.
- Provides operational management oversight of all parking and ground transportation facilities & auxiliary locations (incl. buildings & system components).
- Oversees and supports airport parking and ground transportation operation activities to include emergency preparedness planning and/or contingency planning.
- Provides management and support of all equipment including, but not limited to the Ground Transportation Automated Vehicle Identification equipment (AVI), vehicle dispatching system, gates, Pay-On-Foot equipment (POF), Daktronics vehicle dispatch display board, etc. to ensure continuous access of all modes of parking and ground transportation. Coordinates and assists in the ground transportation decaling process.
- Provides operational management oversight and coordination of all related construction projects and/or special projects impacting day-to-day parking and ground transportation operations.
- Perform contract management to ensure service providers are in compliance with the scope of services to be performed. Ensure compliance through created, established and trackable performance metrics in accordance with all rules, permit agreements, regulations and City Code Ordinance.
- Oversees all aspects of the parking and ground transportation facilities and equipment with daily focus on monitoring and inspecting all ground transportation facilities for cleanliness & operability facilities to ensure safety, security, and efficiency of operations. Facilitate preventive maintenance or repairs needed within the Ground Transportation facilities or report to appropriate department for resolution. Report signage inaccuracies/deficiencies to the supervisor and contractors and follow-up to ensure resolution.
- Respond to, investigate, and document all related parking and ground transportation incidents and/or accidents. Where feasible, exercise independent judgment that will be in the interest of the customer or consumer or immediately escalate to a supervisor for resolution.
- Prepares and submits recommendations for the annual budget for operational expenditures; Prepare and review various reports and logs regarding budgets and operational activities.
- Monitors and evaluates the quality of work performed by the contractors and permit holders; verifies conformity to contractual/permit agreement.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Decision Making
This position may be required to make decisions regarding counseling and/or warning of subordinates, recognition of staff for excellent job performance, denial or recommendation of permit applications, and/or denial of access to companies that are seriously delinquent in payment related to their permits.
Leadership Provided
- Routinely provides work group leadership, guidance, and/or training to less experienced staff.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities This is a partial listing of necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job successfully. It is not an exhaustive list.
- Strong knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; Good knowledge of concepts, processes, and tools within ground transportation or related area; knowledge of related disciplines.
- Skilled in operating a basic computer/laptop and software; excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; ability to work effectively as a team player.
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- 1 to 3 years of work experience in Parking Operations, Ground Transportation Operations or similar role.
- Preferred Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or an appropriate discipline.
