Description
Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Salary: up to £56000 depending on skills and experience
What You’Ll Be Doing:
- Lead & perform on assigned investigations and system engineering matters with software development, integration, hardware teams and other stakeholders throughout the engineering lifecycle
- Responsible for the completion of Performance & Linking Testing, System Analysis and able to support software & system acceptance and delivery management
- Draft design specifications under guidance and carry out design activities in line with specifications while adhering to quality and technical standards
- Provide support to the CDIG team, Engineering Manager & Project Manager to achieve project’s key milestones and engineering deliverables
- Make engineering decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority
- Act as the point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve relatively complex problems and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives
Your Skills And Experiences:
- Understanding towards System Design Specifications and technical documentation and ability to perform System Analysis, Integration, Performance & System Testing and Acceptance Management
- Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment with experience of Configuration Management, problem solving and Technical knowledge of the domain along with the knowledge of Naval Combat System Products (desirable)
- Demonstrates flexibility in responding to changes in tasking and priorities while effectively communicating with management, peers, and stakeholders, supported by a strong understanding of the Engineering Lifecycle, and systems engineering methodologies, practices, and tools
Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution.
Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The Capability Development Insertion Group team:
As a Senior Systems Engineer in CDIG team, you will be required to perform general systems engineering activities, which may include requirements development and management, modelling and simulation, design activities, integration, verification, validation and collating evidence to demonstrate to the customer that the requirements have been met. Supporting various engineering activities to ensure the delivery of engineering work and services to external and internal customers for multiple platforms under the supervision of the CDIG Engineering Manager. Able to work in diverse team.
CDIG is responsible for any new capability insertion into the CMS-1 (as a product and INTeACT going forward) New radars, unmanned Heli – some very recent examples. We start from bidding phase and take it through till disposal stage i.e. bid, estimate, contract award, SRR, PDR, CDR, development, implementation, integration, testing, acceptance, delivery, support, after support disposal.
