Howmet Aerospace seeks a strong experienced Finance Professional with high energy and drive to join our Howmet Engines Finance team in the role of Compliance Analyst, in the Engines Business Unit. The role is located in Pittsburgh. PA and reports to the Segment Compliance Lead for the US.
Primary Responsibilities - This role has 3 main scopes equally balanced: Forensic Accounting, Continuous Improvement Projects and Central Processes Support.
Forensic Accounting
- Performs deep analyses of the locations’ accounts and account reconciliations. The focus is defined with the compliance lead for the US and will often derive from balance sheet reviews.
- Supports the compliance lead during the balance sheet reviews and peer reviews when additional help is needed to analyze further areas of concern.
- Maintain and ensure continuous improvement of the Red Flag Generator.
- Supports the analyses of controls through support of the monthly flux analysis.
Ci Projects
- Supports continuous improvement projects for the segment finance and accounting processes such as: account reconciliations, chart of account usage, elimination of roll forward account reconciliations, etc.
- Supports improvement of processes such as the monitoring of the absorption tests, standard costs updates, etc.
Segment Central Processes Support
Potentially support the segment with central processes such as:
- Reporting (Hart Scott Rodino, SAB104, etc.)
- Yearly analyses such as the Goodwill tests.
- Commercial contracts price & cost reduction tracking.
- Additional duties as required
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years previous work experience in finance and/or accounting
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong cost accounting experience
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Ability to communicate clearly & concisely in both written and oral form
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Experience with querying databases
- Excellent analytical skills
