What’S The Role?
This role supports the oversight and delivery of reporting to the Financial Crime Risk Committee, Executive Risk Committee, Board Risk Committee, and, where appropriate, regulators and other external stakeholders. It sits within the Financial Crime Governance and Regulatory Engagement team, part of the Westpac Group’s Risk division.
The Financial Crime Function is responsible for assisting the Risk Class Owner in developing, maintaining, and overseeing the Group-wide approach to managing Financial Crime risk classes. This role will see you reporting into the Executive Manager, Governance & Regulatory Engagement.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Prepare aggregate Group-wide reporting for the Risk Class Owner, tailored for the Financial Crime, Executive, and Board Risk Committees.
- Drive a consistent and coordinated approach to reporting and governance across Financial Crime risk classes and the broader Financial Crime Function.
- Maintain and manage a comprehensive calendar of reporting and governance activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Financial Crime risk appetite and key risk indicator measures aligned with Group standards, contributing to the Board Risk Appetite other reporting Dashboards.
What do I need?
- Substantial experience in Financial Crime, Compliance, Risk, or Legal functions within the financial services industry (essential).
- Proven expertise in risk governance and reporting, including the preparation of senior management and Board-level reports, with the ability to present findings when required (essential).
- Strong understanding of financial crime risk management frameworks and key financial crime risks, or broader risk management frameworks (advantageous).
- Solid knowledge of the regulatory landscape and experience managing regulatory implications within banking environments (advantageous).
