We have an immediate opening for a Liquidless Manufacturing Technician who will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial equipment used in the piloting of ECOS liquidless laundry sheets. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals who are comfortable working with mixers, drum dryers, cutting tables, and packaging systems. Success in this role requires hands-on experience with machinery, creative problem solving, and the ability to perform basic mechanical adjustments and repairs. The technician will support experimental production runs and contribute to process improvements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Sr. R&D Director to build weekly plans for operation of equipment
- Contribute new ideas and mechanical process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize equipment performance in the ECOS liquidless sheets business.
- Explore and implement mechanical modifications or process enhancements to improve equipment capabilities, including testing new attachments, adjusting machine configurations, or proposing mechanical upgrades to support evolving production needs.
- Make experimental and pilot batches to fulfill trial requests
- Complete batch and inventory tracking sheets when weighing materials
- Prepare drum dryer for operation each day as needed, performing visual inspections to ensure efficient and safe production
- Coordinate transfer of batch from mixer to drum dryer to begin dehydration process
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues in the mixing and drying process to ensure smooth and continuous operation.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with mixers, dryers, and cutters to minimize machine downtime and maintain production flow.
- Develop hands-on expertise in operating, maintaining, and adjusting industrial machinery used in liquidless sheet production.
- Calibrate and adjust machine settings using mechanical tools to achieve correct sheet thickness and prevent material waste.
- Operate and maintain cutting equipment, ensuring sheets meet physical specifications and equipment runs smoothly.
- Clean and organize work area and all equipment at the end of shift and/or during work hours, as necessary
- Support R&D lab as directed
· Handles other special projects and requests as needed

In order to be successful, you will need:
- High school diploma or GED; In process of obtaining Associates or Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering or operations preferred
- At least one year of experience in a hands-on tools/machinery-oriented research or production environment preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to operate scanner to input production
- Strong creative problem solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail, especially when observing dehydration process on dryer
- Strong math skills including addition, subtraction, division, percentages, averages, multiplication and able to run quick mental and theoretical calculations
- Ability to safely lift materials, boxes, tools, equipment, and other necessary items
- Ability to manage time effectively and multitask
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions
- Equipment maintenance experience and ability to use tools to adjust equipment
- Safety First! – Always practice safe behaviors, compliance with job-specific and ECOS safety programs/guidelines, “Accident Prevention” and “Lead-By-Example” approach to safety, wear required PPE, etc.
- Follows sustainability guidelines as communicated by sustainability department and participates in programs and training as needed to support sustainability goals of ECOS
