Description

As the Accounting Manager at Merchants Capital, you will oversee the daily and monthly financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and thorough review of accounting activities. This role is pivotal in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic objectives across the organization.

The Accounting Manager will lead accounting operations for MCC, ensuring timely and precise recording of financial transactions, maintaining asset and liability schedules, preparing monthly financial review materials, and managing audit-related requests. Success in this role requires a meticulous and proactive professional who thrives in cross-functional collaboration and contributes to the company’s financial health and growth. 

Requirements

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and journal entries. 
  • Supervise and mentor a junior accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Review and approve accounting entries to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed schedules of various assets and liabilities.
  • Coordinate MCC’s close processes, collaborating with the parent company accounting teams, and external auditors as needed.
  • Support internal controls and ensure adherence to financial regulations and company policies.
  • Analyze financial data and review for accuracy to support strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting efforts.
  • Contribute to special projects, including system upgrades, process automation, and scaling of the accounting function. 

Expected Experience, Skills And Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
