Summary
The Optometrist is a medical provider who provides comprehensive vision and eye care services. The Optometrist evaluates patients to determine potential vision problems, eye disease or conditions and if the patient requires any subsequent care to addess. They work closely with Ophthalmologists to provide a comprehensive eye care model to take care of all the patients’ needs.
Generic duties are providing integrated, team-based primary eye care alongside ophthalmologists in our practice Perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and manage common ocular conditions (such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye), prescribe corrective lenses, and co-manage pre- and post-operative care. Working in collaboration with ophthalmologists, optometrists help triage and manage patients efficiently, allowing for timely referrals of complex cases while contributing to clinical education and research within the academic setting.
