Occupational Therapist: Residential Treatment Program: Contractor- Fee for Service

Gemma Services provides Psychiatric Residential Treatment programming for children ages 6-14 years of age. The Gemma Services (Gemma) Residential Treatment Program implements a culture of non-violence, trauma-informed approaches, and crisis prevention to create a safe and nurturing treatment environment for children, staff members and families.

Gemma is seeking an Occupational Therapist- Contractor for our Residential Treatment Program. The occupational therapist will be responsible for administering and interpreting related assessments for individuals referred, creating and implementing interventions that include, but are not limited to, sensory processing needs, social needs, cognitive needs, behavior support, and activities of daily living. The occupational therapist will also support the residential life managers and direct care staff as needed to promote behavior change in the milieu through supportive strategies. This can include supporting skill development, accommodating sensory differences, facilitating positive interactions and play opportunities, regulating emotions, and adapting the environment. This position will also involve consulting with members of the clinical team as needed.

Schedule

• This is a contracted position that will be 10 hours monthly. Schedule will require some evening time while being flexible.

Education/Training: Master’s degree in occupational therapy with PA Licensure required.

Experience: Two (2) years of related internship and/or work experience strongly preferred. Prior experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
