Job Description
The Role
We are looking for a Survey Engineer to join our on-site delivery team and provide precise, high-quality survey data to support construction and engineering operations. You will play a key role in the layout, verification, and monitoring of civil works across the project, ensuring all setting-out and dimensional control activities are delivered accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute all site surveying and setting-out activities.
- Establish and maintain site control points and coordinate systems.
- Conduct topographical, boundary, and as-built surveys using GPS, Total Station, and laser scanning equipment.
- Verify construction works against design models and drawings, ensuring compliance with project tolerances.
- Manage and process survey data using relevant software (e.g. Trimble, Leica Geo Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Prepare and issue survey reports, drawings, and as-built documentation.
- Collaborate with site engineers, designers, and construction teams to resolve spatial or dimensional discrepancies.
- Ensure all surveying activities are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or Land Surveying
- Demonstrable experience working as a Survey Engineer or Site Surveyor on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong technical understanding of survey control, setting-out, and coordinate systems.
- Proficiency in survey instruments (Total Station, GPS, digital level) and related software.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive, safety-conscious approach.
- CSCS card and valid UK driving licence – preferred.
