The Role: Health by Design, is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Sonographer / RVT or RVS to perform services for our Executive Exams/Concierge Clinic. What You’ll Do: Located in North San Antonio, this beautiful, unique, well-established clinic provides health and wellness exams to San Antonio Executives (CEOs, CFOs, VPs, etc.). The Ultrasound Sonographer / RVT or RVS uses ultrasound high-frequency sound waves to take images of the body's internal organs and tissues to assist physicians with diagnosing and monitoring a variety of conditions and diseases. Types of scans will include Carotid Intima-Media Thickness Tests (CIMT) / Carotids, Abdomen, Bladder, Kidney, Testicle/Scrotum, Thyroid, Extremities, DVT and Liver.
This position is part-time, 7:00am - 1:00pm. 2-3 days a week (12-18 hours/week), with an opportunity to pick up additional shifts at other clinic locations, as needed. A professional and polished appearance and articulate communication skills are necessary for this opportunity! Responsibilities:Explaining sonographic procedures to patients, answering questions, preparing patients by applying the gel to the skin, and positioning the patients on the tableEnsuring clear images for diagnostic purposes and adjusting the sonographic equipment when necessarySelecting the appropriate settings and adjusting the patients’ positions accordinglyMonitoring and caring for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during the procedures.Selecting and examining images, looking for differences between healthy and pathological areas, and determining if the scope of the exam should be extended, based on preliminary findings.Presenting the sonograms and preliminary findings to the PhysiciansCompleting the appropriate documentation and maintaining patients’ histories and medical records in the electronic medical records (EMR)Assisting Physicians and the healthcare teams during invasive proceduresAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and other team members.
Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Sonography. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist License in the state of Texas; American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. ARDMS Certification / RVT or RVS preferred.
