What You’Ll Do
Drive Australia’s expanding cell therapy program, leading the seamless vein to vein journey across multiple sites and owning regional case coordination with clinicians and AZ cross functional teams in the role of Senior Manager – Cell Therapy Hub within the Oncology R&D Cell Therapy Patient Operations team - make a direct impact on patients’ lives!
- Be the trusted single contact for certified cell therapy sites; manage the autologous vein to vein journey from patient registration through infusion.
- Orchestrate apheresis scheduling, site logistics and personnel readiness; uphold Chain of Identity/Chain of Custody and AZ process standards.
- Partner across Clinical Operations/Study Monitoring, Supply Chain, QA, Manufacturing, Medical, IT and Commercial to unblock and resolve patient and product issues quickly.
- Communicate critical patient related updates swiftly and with empathy; manage expectations and escalations (starting material, investigational medicinal product, supplies).
- Coordinate logistics and training; ensure secure access to AstraZeneca digital platforms and maintain adherence to standard operating procedures, regulatory standards, and business rules, rolling out agreed process changes as new trials scale.
- Drive continuous improvement and operate autonomously across time zones.
Essential For The Role
- 4+ years’ experience in autologous cell therapy at clinical sites (e.g., research/nurse coordinator, apheresis nurse, cell therapy lab professional, quality manager in the healthcare system or regulatory environment).
- Operational experience coordinating vein to vein workflows, apheresis scheduling, COI/COC, deviations/escalations and stakeholder management, with the ability to work and problem-solve autonomously.
- High EQ with empathetic communication and confidence influencing and supporting site stakeholders and internal teams in complex, SOP driven environments.
- Digital fluency across specialised platforms.
- BA or BS degree or equivalent experience
- Melbourne or Sydney based, with ability to travel to sites approximately 25-30%
- Unlimited full Australian work rights required.
Desirable For The Role
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences or Engineering (e.g., PharmD, NP, PA, Biomedical Engineering).
- Experience with critical raw material suppliers or contract manufacturing organisations with immuno oncology or cell/gene therapy exposure.
- SOP development/training experience; continuous improvement mindset.
