About The Team

Together with the GSMA Risk & Compliance Committee, the Risk & Compliance team has been instrumental in the evolution of the GSMA into a more proactive and a risk aware organisation. With projects and programme cutting across the organisation, the team is highly visible and well regarded as an advisor in the organisation.

About The Role

Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, you will support the consistent implementation of GSMA’s risk and compliance framework across the organisation.

You will partner with the business to ensure risk is understood and appropriately managed. This may include:

  • Supporting the Extended Leadership Team in their risk reporting responsibilities such as the business unit risk registers
  • Optimising processes, tools and templates used in business reporting and decision making to embed risk-based decision making across the GSMA
  • Undertaking specific projects for enhancement of risk competence or awareness across the GSMA

You will support the delivery and roll-out of several Risk & Compliance projects across various functions and areas of the organisation as required.

You will carry out compliance specific projects and tasks, including review of policies and procedures, sanctions screening assessments and other compliance reviews.

You will be responsible for helping to maintain the organisation’s Code of Conduct and other policies and managing the relevant trainings.

You will support response to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and the Code of Conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures and manage the system for the uniform handling of such violations and maintaining appropriate records.

You will keep abreast of regulatory developments, governance trends and best practices and advise on their potential impact across the GSMA as required.

You will support the Head of Risk & Compliance with continuous improvement of frameworks, policies and reporting.

About You

You have a demonstrable understanding of, and interest in, corporate governance, risk and/or compliance practices and requirements gained through experience in risk, compliance, or a similar function with relevant and transferrable skills to this role.

You have a sharp intuition with the ability to quickly and effectively understand the business or proposals, draw key risks or issues and assess their impact.

You also have the ability to generate innovative ideas, challenge the status quo and influence and operate at all levels.

You have or have assisted in the delivery of projects or programmes, are structured and organised with an attention to detail to be able to deliver effectively.

You have familiarity with sanctions compliance screening tools, or third-party due diligence processes.

You are hands-on, self-motivated and able to work effectively with or without supervision.

You will ideally possess a professional qualification in the Legal or Accountancy Field by a recognised and accredited Institution.
