We are seeking a talented individual to join our IT Product Management team at Mercer. This role will be based in Cluj Napoca. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Mercer is building our IT Product Management teams and currently seeks another talented Senior Technical Product Manager to be part of our growth. Partnering with Business Leaders and Enterprise Architecture, you will help define the future state technology landscape and shape our technical product roadmap over the next 3 years.

Bringing your technology thought leadership and strategic thinking to our business decisions, you will help introduce new technology to our businesses and make recommendations to decommission legacy tech. With accountability for a portfolio of applications and projects, you will also support other portfolios and oversee the resources required to deliver on your portfolio commitments, including pods, squads, and waterfall teams.

Working collaboratively with colleagues in India, Singapore, and the US, you will share best practices while building your understanding of what the business does. There may also be opportunities for direct line management responsibility for some IT resources, with additional resources allocated from other functional and shared service teams to support delivery.

We provide coaching and training on Mercer policies and procedures to support your success.

We will count on you to:

  • Partner with business leaders, product owners, and domain architects to create and execute a multi-year vision for your portfolio of applications;
  • Manage the portfolio budget and drive responsible development, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of new capabilities aligned to enterprise standards;
  • Provide ongoing management of applications in partnership with MMC shared service leaders;
  • Balance Change the Business (CTB) and Run the Business (RTB) spend across the portfolio, including planning around the application life cycle;
  • Consider pricing versus cost structure impacts on technology roadmaps;
  • Proactively identify new marketplace technologies to address specific business needs within your area of ownership;
  • Serve as a single point of accountability for customizations or variations needed by geography, business line, or department, aiming to avoid excess complexity and cost.
  • Partner with business Product Owners to ensure product backlogs prioritize information security requirements and technical debt reduction;
  • Collaborate with shared service leaders on incident escalation and communication, and with Product Owners to prioritize remediation development work;
  • Work with clients and vendors to support sales cycles, custom implementations, and third-party service integrations;

What You Need To Have:

  • Proven experience managing the technology strategy of one or more products;
  • Thorough and broad understanding of technology and how it can solve business problems;
  • Strong experience in senior leadership roles partnering with senior business leaders to define strategies and product roadmaps;
  • Experience in technology strategy, roadmap planning, and related budgeting;
  • Excellent stakeholder management and business engagement skills;
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels and present effectively to senior business leaders;
  • Solid understanding of security, privacy, and regulatory requirements;
