Roles And Responsibilities

  • Shall have experience working with transportation environmental issues.
  • Shall be familiar with Air Force and Host Nation hazardous material and waste management procedures, to include application and disposal.
  • Shall have experience with Industrial Shop Safety Programs, Occupational Safety, and Health Standards.
  • Manage VM environmental, health, and safety issues effectively within the scope of the role.
  • Oversee environmental and safety aspects of applicable Task Orders (TOs) and publications.
  • Implement and uphold Industrial Shop Safety Programs, adhering to US and Host Nation Occupational Safety and Health Standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all DOD, USAF, USAFE, and Host Nation instructions regarding Hazardous Material (HM), Hazardous Waste (HW), and Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), prioritizing occupational and industrial health and safety, environmental protection, and proper HW movement and disposal.
  • Implement appropriate HAZCOM procedures compliant with DOD and European regulations during processes involving HM and HW to safeguard environmental protection, physical safety, occupational health, and movement/disposal operations.
  • Exercise responsibility of ensuring VM implements HAZCOM at all times to prevent risks, mitigate hazards, and respond effectively to mishaps.
  • Foster a safe and healthy workplace for both contractor personnel and those affected by contractor operations.
  • Identify and address health hazards to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses, prioritizing the well-being of personnel.
  • Adhere to Host Nation, AF instructions and TOs while conducting operations and managing VM environmental and safety programs.
  • They should manage and maintain T.O.s and publication library, as they apply to environmental and safety aspects.
  • Develop and implement safety and environmental hazard and risk assessments, create instruction , provide trainings, and perform inspections as needed/required.
  • As the ESTO for VM, you will also be the Facility Manger and ensure required environmental and safety standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • Us Citizenship

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Vehicle maintenance or similar industrial workplace experience.
  • 2 years of experience as a Hazardous Waste Manager, Hazardous Material Manger, and/or Industrial Workplace Safety Monitor.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in vehicle maintenance.
  • 5 years of experience managing operational compliance with AF instructions, technical orders, or other environmental and safety regulations.
  • 5 years of experience in an environmental and/or safety leadership role.
  • ISO 18001 Environmental Management System Certified
  • ISO 14001 Safety Management System Certified
