Job Responsibilities:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting team and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. They oversee various accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliation, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in decision-making processes by providing financial insights and analysis in a global environment.Main Tasks & Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyse financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Generate financial reports for management and stakeholders.
Accounting Operations:
- Supervise and guide the general ledger accounting team.
- Prepare / Review and approve journal entries, where required regionally, and reconciliations.
Cash Management:
- Manage cash flow, including cash forecasting and working capital management. Includes daily and weekly tracking of cash position and revolver requirements.
- Communication with lender regarding cash draws and payments, application of interest, and tracking of debt.
Budgeting And Forecasting:
- Collaborate with other departments to gather budget data and provide insights into financial performance.
Compliance And Audit:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and local statutory requirements
- Coordinate and manage external audits, working closely with auditors.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management.
Tax Compliance:
- Collaborate with tax professionals to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and AI opportunities, to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
Risk Management:
- Assess and mitigate financial risks.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor accounting staff.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the accounting department.
- Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide continuous feedback to support employee growth
Ad/Hoc duties and projects as required
Additional Job Details:
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or CPA certification may be preferred), Professional Accountancy Qualification or professional tax qualification.
- Proven experience (usually 5+ years) in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE
- Familiarity with Workday ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of industry-specific accounting standards (e.g., translation services or private equity).
- Experience with financial modelling and data analysis tools.
