Participates in the development and administration of a clinical quality improvement program to educate physicians and staff about trauma care coverage.  Functions as a clinical resource nurse to staff and patients for trauma care coverage in collaboration with physicians.  Plans and conducts continuing education programs for allied professionals and the general public.  Maintains Trauma Registry database.  Identifies and assesses patients with trauma and institutes the appropriate care pathway. Acts as a liaison for and participates in research within the American Heart Association, and Washington State EMS and Trauma Care Services programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing degree (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing
  • Coursework/Training: Completion of a WA DOH trauma program manager orientation course within the first 18 months of hire.
  • Coursework/Training: Requirment of thirty-six (36) hours of trauma-related education every three years.
  • Upon hire: Washington Registered Nurse License 
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Upon hire: National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Certificate - NIH Stroke Scale Training Course
  • 5 years Nursing experience.
  • 2 years Emergency Department experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Project management experience.
