Job Purpose:
MA’AN Development Center is seeking a qualified and committed Project
Coordinator to support the implementation of the project ‘Growing
Sustainable Practices in Schools’, implemented in collaboration with Enabel and
funded by the Government of Belgium under the Green West Bank Project.
The Project Coordinator (North) will oversee and facilitate all
project activities in Nablus and Tubas governorates. The position
requires close coordination with schools, local authorities, and community
stakeholders to ensure effective and high-quality implementation of
environmental education and sustainability activities.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall
coordination of all project activities to ensure timely, efficient, and
high-quality implementation in line with MA’AN and Enabel standards. The
position involves close collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MoE), the
Environmental Quality Authority (EQA), local municipalities, and school
management teams to promote environmental sustainability, climate awareness,
and green practices across targeted schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee project activities in assigned schools and communities within Nablus and Tubas.
- Ensure activities are implemented according to the project’s work plan, budget, and quality standards.
- Support the establishment and operation of environmental clubs and student-led green initiatives.
- Facilitate training sessions for teachers and students on environmental and climate topics.
- Supervise the implementation of greenhouse and composting systems in coordination with technical staff.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress, collect data, and ensure accountability and quality.
- Coordinate with school management, municipalities, and local partners to ensure successful implementation.
- Promote gender equality, inclusion, and youth participation across all project components.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and MEAL team to monitor indicators, document lessons learned, and report on outcomes.
- Prepare and submit timely weekly and monthly field reports.
- Represent MA’AN at the local level and ensure clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Uphold MA’AN’s Code of Conduct, Child Protection Policy, and accountability standards.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Agricultural
Engineering/ Agronomy, Education, or a related field.
Experience:
- o Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in coordinating development, environmental, or education projects.
- o Proven ability to manage field activities and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- o Experience working with schools, youth groups, or local communities.
- o Familiarity with donor-funded project implementation and compliance.
- o Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently across the northern region.
Professional Skills:
o Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
o Good command of Arabic and English (spoken and written).
o Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
o Ability to work independently and under pressure.
