DP World is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Oceania cluster (part of the APAC region) with a focus on supporting our growing logistics business to deliver strategic legal guidance across all aspects of our business. In this key role, you’ll work closely with senior leadership, internal teams, and external advisors to deliver practical legal advice that enables commercial success and ensures compliance.

With broad exposure across the organisation, you will help manage legal risk, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to high-impact decision-making in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex legal matters independently, including contract review, drafting, and negotiation across a broad range of commercial, property, procurement, IT, and infrastructure agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on issues such as contract law, compliance, construction projects, insurance claims, and disputes.
  • Draft and review legal documents, reports, and correspondence to support business operations and risk management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify legal risks and deliver practical, business focused solutions.
  • Demonstrate willingness to lead key compliance and risk initiatives, including championing those as needed.
  • Provide legal support and guidance on mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, contract negotiation, transaction management, and post-deal integration.

Qualifications, Experience And Skills:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (a postgraduate legal qualification would be viewed favourably).
  • Admission as a Legal Practitioner with a current Practicing Certificate.
  • 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably in-house or seconded within shipping, logistics, transport, construction, or infrastructure industries.
  • Works autonomously on any legal matters, projects and issues.
  • Strong expertise in Corporate and Commercial Law, including contracts, property and construction, transport, and logistics.
  • Independently and concurrently manages multiple complex legal matters and timelines.
  • Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies and applying legislation and regulatory policies.
  • Excellent business acumen, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Skilled in managing external counsel and legal budgets effectively.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement, decision-making, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to drive outcomes through peer and senior management involvement to conclusions of transactions.
