Position Summary

Provides clients and patients with healthy and safe fitness plan in order to achieve individual personal goals.  Provides excellent customer services promoting wellness while creating a positive educational environment for clients.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or other health related field. One year experience in the health and fitness field, preferably as a Personal Trainer.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  1. Must be able to perform all duties associated with the position of Personal Trainer.   Excellent physical condition is necessary to endure stresses of the job. Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with all age groups and physical ability levels. Must display professional mannerism and appearance. Demonstrates maturity to function independently, organize work and set priorities appropriately.

License/Certification/Registration:

  1. Nationally accredited personal training certification required.  
  2. Must complete the American Heart Association’s Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renew BLS every two years.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment.  Frequent contact with patients.  May require working various shifts to ensure adequate coverage.

Physical Demands

Requires full range body motion including handling patients, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.  May require standing and walking for extended periods of time.  Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.



Essential Functions

  • Provide best in class training experiences that challenge and motivate clients
  • Provide  health screenings, fitness assessments and orientation services to clients
  • Respond to safety and emergency situations 
  • Perform responsibilities in a manner, which demonstrates professionalism
  • Perform other duties as required
