The Impact Of Your Role:
You will be instrumental in establishing the financial foundation for our growing company as we scale operations across Finland and the UK. You will transform our financial operations from startup-stage processes into robust systems that support sustainable growth. Your work will directly enable informed decision-making, ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and build investor confidence through transparent, accurate reporting. This role is critical to our ability to secure future funding rounds and scale operations efficiently.
Your Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting
- Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Finland & UK operations with the external accounting partners, ensuring accuracy of financial information
- Management Reporting
- Develop and maintain standardized reporting processes, KPI dashboards, and variance analysis for leadership decision-making
- Internal Controls
- Design and implement financial control systems, accounting policies, cash management processes, and month-end/year-end procedures from the ground up
- Investor Relations
- Support the preparation of investor reporting packages, board materials, and fundraising activities with due diligence materials and data rooms
- Strategic Support
- Collaborate on financial strategy, business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, providing analysis for strategic decisions
- Operations Management
- Oversee AP/AR/payroll processes, manage relationships with external accountants and auditors across jurisdictions
- Systems Implementation
- Support ERP and financial systems implementation as the company scales, ensuring process efficiency and accuracy

You Should Have:
Key Skills
- Professional accounting qualification or similar
- 5-7 years of experience in financial control or management accounting roles
- Multi-jurisdictional financial reporting and compliance experience
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (Finnish accounting standards and ideally UK as well)
- Experience implementing financial controls and processes in growing organizations
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling proficiency
Erp Systems Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent communication skills for investor and stakeholder interactions
It’s a big plus if you also have:
- Previous startup or scale-up experience (Series A-C preferred)
- Manufacturing or industrial sector background
- UK and Finnish tax regulations knowledge
- Experience with fundraising activities and investor reporting
- Understanding of sustainability reporting and ESG metrics
- R&D tax credits and government grants experience
- Ability to mentor and develop junior finance staff
