Summary:

The Regional Sales Director leads a sales team, driving revenue and building strong customer relationships. This role focuses on setting clear goals, coaching team members, and identifying new business opportunities to meet and exceed sales targets.

Essential Functions:

  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and mentor a regional sales team to achieve performance goals.
  • Foster a collaborative, motivated team environment.
  • Recruit and train new sales representatives.
  • Develop and implement ongoing training programs to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Mentor high-potential team members to prepare them for leadership roles.
  • Lead organizational initiatives that improve the overall sales culture and boost employee engagement.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Set sales strategies, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to direct reports and stakeholders.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and executing strategic sales opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and the market, and offering tailored solutions.
  • Integrate customer and market information into a multi-year plan to maintain base business while growing key accounts.
  • Financial & Operational Oversight
  • Oversee sales budgets, analyze market trends, and provide forecasts.
  • Provide accurate, data-driven revenue forecasts to senior management.
  • Identify risks to revenue targets and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Handle contract negotiations and ensure contract compliance, where applicable.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with marketing to align campaigns, product launches, and lead generation efforts with sales objectives.
  • Work closely with Commercial Leadership to provide market dynamics and input that drives competitive yet profitable pricing strategies.
  • Technology & Process Optimization
  • Drive adoption of sales tools and CRM systems to improve productivity and data quality.
  • Identify and implement best practices to streamline sales processes and reduce inefficiencies.
Requirements

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field required. 
  • 5+ years of progressive healthcare sales experience. 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare industry and trends. 
  • Success leading complex sales and contract negotiation processes.  
  • Effective relationship development and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong sales management abilities, strategic planning skills, financial acumen, and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to travel domestically, up to 50% of the time 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains departmental supervisory staff. 
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department. 
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
