Research Assistant I/II in Cardiovascular and Genetic Epidemiology in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 533426)

Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage and analyse large clinical biobank datasets
- Assist in coordinating clinical studies and trails
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or above in Biostatistics, Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines with at least 1 year’s post-qualification experience, preferably in clinical research, epidemiological data analysis of large datasets using R and/or STATA, and genetic/molecular epidemiology including Mendelian Randomization
- Strong quantitative background
- Good communication and data visualization skills
- Ability to acquire new biostatistical techniques by self-learning
- Demonstrated abstract concepts in an accessible way to all organizational levels
- Self-motivated, attentive to details, scientifically mature and able to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
- Holding a phlebotomy course certificate with at least one year of experience would be an advantage
What We Offer
The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave, medical benefits and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
