About The Opportunity:

Amentum has a long standing and enduring role supporting the Dreadnought Supply and Support Team (DSST) with engineering and other technical support to its Waterfront Infrastructure team. The scope of this support includes waterfront sites at facilities in the UK and the USA and Amentum’s DSST Infra team includes submarine waterfront requirements, risks management, operational, engineering, maintenance SQEP. The multi-disciplined team is embedded in client and tier one partner sites in Scotland, and the north west and south west of England.

Our team reports to our DSST Infra Technical Delivery Manager and delivers via the client DSST Infra Project Manager to the client’s DSST Chief Engineer.

Scope:

The individual, in concert with other team members, will support the delivery to DSST Infra of the following key activities:

• Dreadnought Infrastructure Requirements.

• Risk Management.

• Whole Boat to Site Safety Integration.

• Strategic Weapons Coordination.

• Submarine Delivery Agency Shore Support Requirements for Warships.
• Support Solution and Shore Systems Integration.

• Wider Infrastructure Engagement.

Role:

The successful applicant will work, together with the other team members, in providing the Dreadnought Supply and Support Team (DSST) with waterfront infrastructure engineering and professional support as set out above. Based in Glasgow, but with the expectation to travel to HMNB Clyde, Rosyth Royal Dockyard, BAES Shipyard Barrow in Furness, MoD Abbey Wood and other relevant sites to support the DSST project deliverables:

• Review and provide comments on technical, design, safety and risk management documentation relating to Dreadnought and Infrastructure Change Programmes.
• Work with senior stakeholders across the submarine enterprise to provide the MoD client with assurance that Dreadnought’s infrastructure requirements will be met and that the vessel can be supported at the nominated sites by mandated readiness dates.
• Support the DSST Infra Technical Delivery Manager and the Infrastructure Technical Lead as directed.

Individual:

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:

• A Professional Engineer with knowledge and experience of working with Submarine waterfront infrastructure, systems and procedures.
• Capable of working unsupervised but within an integrated team and sourcing guidance and approvals from Amentum management as necessary.
• Able to engage with stakeholders from a wide range of client and partner organisations from senior to junior levels.
• Applicants must eligible to obtain SC clearance.
