The Manager of IT Infrastructure and Security leads our IT team in Germany to maintain and enhance the organization's technology infrastructure and security posture in all locations of operation. The Manager is responsible for overseeing a team of IT professionals, ensuring the robustness and security of our technology environment, and driving initiatives to support the company's operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and mentor a diverse team of IT professionals specializing in infrastructure, security, and support. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, including setting objectives to ensure team member are aligned with departmental goals, conducting performance reviews, and supporting career development.
Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, data centers, and cloud services. Ensure systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with the organization's needs.
Internal Partnership and Relationship Management: Proactively partner with other departments to understand their technology needs and challenges. By fostering strong, positive relationships and maintaining open lines of communication, ensure that IT initiatives are aligned with broader business objectives and that internal stakeholders receive timely support and solutions.
Security Risk Management: Develop and implement security policies and procedures to protect the organization’s data and IT assets. Monitor and respond to security threats, conduct regular risk assessments, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Project Management: Lead and manage IT projects related to infrastructure and security. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Coordinate with other departments to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
Incident Management: Act as the point of contact for major IT incidents, including coordinating response efforts and communication. Analyze incidents to determine root causes and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts, ensure service level agreements are met, and assess performance to ensure value for money.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT infrastructure and security budget. Ensure cost-effective use of resources and alignment with the organization’s financial objectives.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Propose and implement improvements to enhance system performance, security, and efficiency.
What You Bring With You
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a positive.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, with a focus on infrastructure and security.
- Proven experience leading and managing IT teams.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud technologies.
- In-depth knowledge of security practices, frameworks, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, NIST 800-53).
- Excellent project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
