Job Role

We are growing our Principal Engineer team, and looking for an experienced Technical Lead to join our team. The Allianz Technology Principal Engineer team are key to ensuring that our engineering solutions enable Allianz to realise our strategic ambitions around Transformation

What you will do

•    Creating, maintaining and supporting the applications in their respective operational portfolio, ensuring solutions meet all business needs, are performant, and comply with company security standards.
•    Owning various design patterns with a focus on integrations, and keeping abreast of technology standards and industry trends
•    Co-ordinating development teams from across different parts of the organisation to implement solution architectures
•    Work closely with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, Project Managers, Product Owners, Low-Code Configurators, Business Analysts, and lead development teams to deliver software that satisfies customer requirements
•    Proactively identify possible technical issues, show stoppers and possible causes with solutions during the early stages of architecture.
•    Co-ordinates and leads development teams to ensure software aligns with approved Solution Architecture and Enterprise Architecture
•    Alongside engineering skills, support Cloud technologies (AWS & Azure) and DevSecOps principles with which to influence technology roadmaps and mentor software engineers and low-code configurators as they develop their own skills.
•    Keep up-to-date with latest trends, technologies and approaches and share this knowledge with different team members to help influence strategy and keep Allianz at the forefront of engineering
•    Provide technical leadership - both the technology choices within solutions and the engineering methods used to achieve this.
•    In-depth understanding of information security practices and standards
•    Work collaboratively with all levels of stakeholders – India, UK, Az Group, Third-parties etc
•    Focus on continuous improvemen

What You Bring

•    Leading and co-ordinating development teams in the delivery of software solutions
•    Ability to explain complex topics to non-IT business stakeholders
•    Experience in Unit testing
•    Good communication, analytical and problem solving skills
•    Good to have knowledge in Event Driven Architecture.
•    Good to have knowledge in CI tools like Jenkins.
•    Good to have worked with Git, Gitlab/ Github.
•    Preferably hands on experience in DevOps patterns and practices.
•    Preferably good understanding of application servers and containers (Docker containers etc.)
•    Good knowledge of Design patterns and experience in implementations of those.
•    Experience in Agile framewor

You Have

•    Experienced in Spring framework and related patterns in MVC and Boot.
•    Experienced in WebServices (ReST/MicroServices) development.
•    Experience in Apigee
•    Hands-on experience in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
•    Experience working with and developing Liquid Templates
•    Experience in different type of integrations (e.g. MQ, Native etc.)
•    Hands-on development experience in low-code technologies eg. INSTANDA
•    Good knowledge in container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Openshift
