Your New Role
As Director of Obesity Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing innovative marketing strategies for Novo Nordisk’s growing obesity portfolio. You will drive impactful initiatives that address patient needs, support healthcare professionals, and deliver sustainable business growth. This is a highly strategic role, requiring strong cross-functional collaboration, market insight, and creative thinking to position Novo Nordisk as a leader in the evolving obesity treatment landscape.
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to strengthen Novo Nordisk’s leadership in the obesity market
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with sales, medical affairs, market access, and other internal partners to deliver impactful commercial initiatives
- Analyse market trends and consumer insights to inform decision-making and refine brand positioning
- Oversee the development and execution of promotional campaigns and materials
- Monitor and optimise marketing performance metrics to ensure continuous improvement and strong Retrun On Investment
- Provide strategic engagement guidance, including defining target profiles and patient segments, and contribute to patient-focused initiatives and ESC/AHA-aligned campaigns
- Support launch readiness and long-term promotion planning, including MASH (2026+) integration and cardiologist-specific strategies and training
This position does not entail direct people management responsibilities, but it represents an excellent opportunity to grow into broader leadership roles within the organisation. You will operate with significant autonomy, high visibility, and strong strategic influence — making a measurable impact on how we bring innovative obesity therapies to patients worldwide.
This is an office-based position, to be located either in Copenhagen or Zurich. The final location will be confirmed during the recruitment process, taking both business needs and candidate fit into account.
Your New Department
You will be part of the Medical & Marketing team at Novo Nordisk. This department plays a critical role in driving innovative marketing strategies and ensuring seamless collaboration across teams. The position is based in Zurich or Copenhagen, where you will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Our team is dedicated to fostering cohesive strategies and bridging efforts between International Operations and Strategic Operations to drive unified outcomes. Your skills & qualifications
We’re looking for a new Director for Obesity Marketing who demonstrates a deep understanding of marketing principles and strategies, with the ability to craft and execute campaigns that align with the organisation's goals in the obesity market.
To succeed in this role, you:
- Hold an academic degree in Marketing, Business Administration or similar
- Have at least 8 years’ experience in marketing within the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry
- Have proven expertise in product management, market research, and promotional campaign development
- Are skilled in interpreting market research and consumer behaviour trends to predict future needs and tailor marketing strategies accordingly
- Are fully proficient in English, both written and spoken
It will be seen as an advantage if you have gained experience within the obesity therapeutic area.
On a personal level, you build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment and support for marketing initiatives You thrive in dynamic environments, quickly adapting to changing market conditions and organisational priorities and can proactively identifies challenges and implements effective solutions and are adept at working across departments, including sales, medical, and regulatory teams, to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment of objectives.
