Job Description

Given the growth of our enterprise both organic and through acquisitions, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Asset Management Specialist to join our Information Systems Commercial Operation team and work closely with SAM (Software Asset Management) Team. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various teams and departments to manage the Software and Software Services lifecycle. 

As Software Asset Management Specialist, you will work proactively to:  

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their SW and SW service needs,  
  • Engage vendors to procure Software and Software services, 
  • Ensure Vendors Software and Services are in compliance with Renesas policy and procedures. 
  • Maintain Software and Services and be the commercial contact to vendors. 
  • Monitor performance and optimize utilization. 
  • Manage Renewals / Addon requests and Retirement of solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to understand software and software service requirements across the enterprise. 
  • Vendor Engagement: Lead procurement activities by liaising with vendors to acquire software and services aligned with business needs. 
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure all software and services comply with company policies, licensing agreements, and regulatory standards. 
  • Deployment Coordination: Work with relevant teams to support the deployment and integration of software solutions. 
  • Lifecycle Maintenance: Act as the primary commercial contact for vendors, managing ongoing support, updates, and issue resolution. 
  • Performance Monitoring: Track software usage and performance to identify optimization opportunities and ensure efficient utilization. 
  • Renewals & Retirement Management: Oversee software renewals, add-on requests, and the decommissioning of outdated or unused solutions. 
  • Budget Control: Manage software-related budgets, ensure cost-effective procurement, track expenditures, and identify opportunities for cost saving. 
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance SAM processes to support scalability and integration across entities. 
  • New / Add-on / Renewal of Software and Software services agreements completed on time. 
  • Maintain Vendor, Software and Software Services data accurately and regularly. 
  • Plan and deliver monthly procurement plan for Software and Software services. 
  • Vendor Onboarding process and required compliance controls done on time. 
  • Quarterly License and service performance reporting with suggestions for improvement 
  • Build Dashboard and reports for Software Asset and Services 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. 
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance SAM processes to support scalability and integration across entities. 
  • New / Add-on / Renewal of Software and Software services agreements completed on time. 
  • Maintain Vendor, Software and Software Services data accurately and regularly.

Key Performance Measures

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in global tech. industry, with roles in IT, SAM. Procurement. 
  • Knowledge in Software asset and vendor lifecycle process. 
  • Strong negotiation skills, particularly in vendor management, contract discussions, and procurement processes. 
  • General knowledge in financial area (CAPEX, OPEX, budget management) 
  • Good skills in MS Office and tools 
  • Experience in Software Asset Management tools (e.g. Service Now, Coupa, Open IT, Altair or others) 
  • Experience with agile frameworks - like Scrum or Kanban 
  • Experience with FlexLM, or other license management tools, can represent an advantage. 
  • Clear and professional English communication; Japanese proficiency is a plus. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in cross-functional communication with internal and external people from a variety of backgrounds. 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and multitasking abilities, resolving issues efficiently.
