Viking Penguin is seeking a Marketing Associate to join our team responsible for marketing Viking, Pamela Dorman Books, Penguin Life, The Open Field, Penguin Books and Penguin Classics, imprints which publish a range of fiction and nonfiction from bestselling and award-winning authors.

As the Marketing Associate, you will coordinate campaigns for assigned titles under the instruction of the Marketing Director, and assist senior title marketers on campaigns. The marketing associate will work collaboratively with publicity, editorial, design, and ad buying teams on a regular basis.

The Marketing Associate should be highly motivated, enthusiastic about publishing, and enjoy reading broadly and often. We seek an individual ready to champion Viking Penguin’s books from day one while working alongside a fun and fast-paced team. To succeed in this role, one must be a detail-oriented self-starter, a strong written and verbal communicator, and an organized multitasker. If you are comfortable asking questions, asking for help when needed, and being an active participant on a collaborative team, this may be the position for you!

About the Team:  As part of the Viking Penguin Marketing Department, you will work on books that shape national conversation and culture. We publish world-renowned academics and leaders who inspire new ways of thinking; beloved fiction authors whose novels make their way to the top of the New York Times bestseller list; and wellness experts who arm readers with tools, insights, and encouragement to live fuller, healthier lives. Authors we publish include Amor Towles, Tana French, Richard Osman, Adam Grant, Martha Beck, Dr. Uche Blackstock, Maria Shriver, Matt Haig, and Rebecca Makkai, among many others.

Our team shepherds more than 100 new books into the world each year, in addition to a treasured backlist packed with perennial bestsellers. Marketers are constantly seeking new points of discovery with readers, including but not limited to data-driven advertising strategies, outreach to buzz-building influencers, and generating organic content on owned platforms.
