Job Description

Visa’s Internship Program provides an immersive, 12-week journey where you’ll work on impactful projects that drive Visa’s mission forward. As a Visa intern, you’ll build valuable connections across the organization, sharpen your communication and business acumen, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, global environment.

Throughout the program, you’ll have exclusive access to interactive workshops and learning sessions designed to deepen your expertise, expand your industry knowledge, and elevate your professional skillset. You won’t just be learning, you’ll be contributing, collaborating, and innovating every step of the way. In addition to professional development, you’ll enjoy a variety of intern social events that foster community, connection, and fun throughout the summer.

The experience culminates in an exciting final presentation, where you’ll showcase your project achievements, share key insights, and present your recommendations to Visa’s leaders and stakeholders. This is your chance to demonstrate your business impact, highlight your personal growth, and align your work with Visa’s vision for the future.

Essential Functions

What You’Ll Do

  • Map the developer journey (onboarding, CI/CD, build/test, deploy, incident review); identify bottlenecks and define “golden paths.”
  • Prototype LLM‑assisted workflows (ticket triage, runbook/search, log and incident summaries, PR hints) with clear prompts, guardrails, and evaluation.
  • Automate repetitive tasks and enable self‑service (templates, scripts, dashboards) that shorten inner‑loop feedback cycles.
  • Ship DevEx dashboards tracking lead time for changes, deployment frequency, build stability, MTTR, and product adoption.
  • Partner with product/engineering/analytics to source trustworthy data, define metrics/SLAs, and document simple metric definitions and lineage.
  • Baseline current performance and demonstrate measurable impact (e.g., minutes saved per build, fewer handoffs, faster onboarding).

How You’Ll Work

  • Rapid discovery‑to‑pilot using approved AI tools for research synthesis, prompt design, mock data, and quick UI/CLI concepts.
  • Own a scoped lifecycle: from problem statement to pilot, with clear docs, dashboards, and runbooks for handoff.

Deliverables

  • Current/future‑state maps with prioritized AI/automation opportunities.
  • 1–2 validated AI copilots/assistants with prompts, evaluation criteria, and risks.
  • 2–3 production‑quality DevEx dashboards with definitions and usage guides.
  • A concise “AI‑powered DevEx playbook” for O&I.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data/Analytics, Information Science, MIS, or related field, graduating December 2026 - August 2027.

  • Communication and empathy: ability to interview users, synthesize findings, and present concise recommendations.
  • Analytical thinking: comfort defining problems, structuring analysis, and quantifying impact.
  • Familiarity with LLMs and prompt design; exposure to frameworks or concepts for retrieval, evaluation, and or orchestration.
  • Experience instrumenting metrics and building DevEx- or platform-related dashboards.
  • Comfort with cloud/infrastructure basics (e.g., CI/CD, containers, monitoring) and product tools (Jira, Notion, Figma).
  • Prior internship or significant project experience in product, engineering, or data analytics.

How We Work (Visa Leadership Principles):

  • Customer Centricity: Start with developer needs and measure outcomes that matter to them.
  • Execute with Excellence: Ship usable dashboards and well-documented prototypes that teams can adopt.
  • Learn Fast: Pilot small, incorporate feedback, iterate.
