Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director Laundry in all phases of the department activities
  • Report to shift on time in issued uniform in a neat, clean and tidy appearance at all times.
  • Responsible for the smooth running of the operation and all related areas (Laundry, Linen & logistic Operation, Wardrobe).
  • Ensures all Guest laundry requirements are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with Front Office and Housekeeping for special requests.
  • Issue a weekly action item list with outstanding issue
  • Ensure RFID system is adequately and consistently used for both uniform and linen. (in and out)
  • Ensure all the non-chip linens are properly counted and recorded.
  • Prepare duty rosters according to business level and forecast.
  • Assign a daily, weekly, monthly goal to subordinate.
  • Issue of all working schedule and report to manager.
  • Participate actively to daily briefing.
  • Communicate information “in a timely manner” to colleagues.
  • Provide feedback in a positive and encouraging way on team performance.
  • Is aware of linen fabric specifications and categories.
  • Keep specification book, up to date and revise it when applicable.
  • Responsible for assigned keys and devices assigned when applicable.
  • Ensure that all laundry and valet equipment is properly maintained and operating.
  • Attend meetings with the laundry contractor to monitor standard, quality and quantities.
  • Follow up with outsource laundry regarding operational equipment’s to kept high level of service and to protect at best company assets and inventories.
  • Handle conduct quality quarterly inspection at the outsource laundry.
  • Coordinate with outsource laundry for the pickup and delivery schedule.
  • Arrange sorting of stain linens and coordinate with outsource laundry for re-wash process.
  • Conduct monthly inventory at outsource laundry factory as necessary
  • Conduct manual count inventory and system inventory when and where applicable.
  • Keep informed of new techniques and trends to facilitate and upgrade the facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspection of uniform and linen in the outlet to make sure the image is conformed to standards.
  • Attend meetings with the outsource laundry to monitor standard.
  • Is aware of all uniforms and linen specifications and categories.
  • Inspect all the linen areas to ensure they are clean and tidy as well are organized.
  • Contribute to build the scope of work of the maintenance program so that everything is covered to achieve and keep high standard, and protect company assets.
  • Works effectively with the Maintenance team on equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinating with RFID system vendor for any maintenance and training programs.
  • Make suggestions for improving the service and operation standards.
  • Develop and demonstrate his/her creativity at all time, keeping in mind cost and size of Operation.
  • Keep record of contractors and suppliers’ interventions.
  • Provide constructive feedback on what was observed keeping in mind quality and productivity.
  • Find ways to improve the efficiency of the operations.
  • Need to have a good understanding of all our outlet operation to be able to answer needs in a timely manner.
  • Deal efficiently with all other departments, as well as outsourced laundry and suppliers.
  • Maintain good communication with other departments, outsourced laundry and suppliers.
  • Is in charge of various monthly inventories and report to manager.
  • Control storage and consumption of supplies.
  • Keep open communication with the Director Laundry.
  • Dispense on the job training for subordinate and attend training session.
  • Be responsible and accountable for recording colleagues training as well as performance management and reviews.
  • Dispense daily briefing.
  • Participate to communication meeting with other departments when applicable.
  • Handle guest comments and complaints properly and keep the management informed.
  • Review and update SOP’s yearly and whenever applicable and appropriate.
  • Keep records of special cleaning and maintenance up to date.
  • Establish cleaning programs to maintain top cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure emergency procedures are followed strictly.
  • Ensure health and safety as well as hygiene rules are strictly followed.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the department head at all time

Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in hospitality or housekeeping is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a laundry operation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of laundry procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and a strong sense of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
